What this covers

This policy explains the cookies and similar browser storage (localStorage and sessionStorage) that EcoPulseIQ uses, and how you can control them. It sits alongside our Privacy Policy, which describes how we handle personal data more generally.

What cookies and similar technologies are

A cookie is a small file a website asks your browser to store and send back on later visits. localStorage and sessionStorage are related browser features that let a site keep small pieces of information on your device — sessionStorage only until you close the tab, localStorage until it is cleared. We use all three, and treat them under the same categories below.

Why EcoPulseIQ uses them

Mainly to make the product work: to keep you signed in, to keep your session secure, to protect our forms from abuse, and to remember the diagnostic you are part-way through. Everything beyond that is optional and off unless you turn it on.

EcoPulseIQ does not use Google Analytics, a tag manager, an advertising pixel, or any other third-party tracking script. There is no cross-site tracking and no profiling.

Categories we use

Strictly necessary

Always on — the platform cannot run without them, so they are not subject to consent. These currently include:

• Authentication and session — cookies set by our authentication provider (Supabase) so that signing in works and your session stays valid as you move around the app.
• Consent record — a single localStorage entry that stores the choices you make here, so we do not ask again on every page.
• Contact-form protection — a random identifier in localStorage used only to rate-limit the public contact form and reduce spam.
• Assessment progress — your in-progress answers to the free diagnostic, kept in localStorage so you can leave and come back. Cleared when the assessment is submitted or reset.
• Display preference — your light or dark mode choice, saved in localStorage so the interface loads the way you left it.
• Interface state — small first-party values that remember things like a dismissed install prompt or a panel layout.

Preferences

Optional. Would remember non-essential choices to tailor your experience. Not currently used — we set no preference storage that requires consent. The category and its switch exist so that if we add any, it stays off until you allow it.

Analytics

Optional. Would help us understand how the platform is used so we can improve it. Not currently used — EcoPulseIQ has no analytics or measurement scripts. Your choice is recorded so that anything added later is switched off until you allow it.

Marketing

Optional, and off by default. If you allow it, EcoPulseIQ keeps the campaign parameters from the link you arrived on (for example utm_source) in your browser's session storage until you submit an enquiry, so we can tell which channel brought you. It is held only for the current browser session, never shared with an advertising network, and nothing is stored unless you allow this category.

How to manage or change your choices

You can review or change your choices at any time — turning optional categories on or off — using the button below or the Cookie preferences link in the site footer. Withdrawing consent is as easy as giving it, and takes effect immediately.

You can also clear or block cookies and site storage in your browser settings. Blocking strictly necessary items will stop parts of the platform — sign-in in particular — from working.
